If you were bummed that you missed Britney Spears’ residency in Las Vegas, don’t panic — because Lady Gaga has announced she’ll be taking her place at MGM’s Park Theater for a two year run in the city.
As Variety reports, Gaga is set to perform a total of 74 dates over two years starting in late 2018 — meaning, if you didn’t catch her on tour, you’ll have plenty of time to make your way to Vegas to catch her performing everything from “Poker Face” to “Joanne.”Â
The rumors are true! I will have my own residency at MGM’s Park Theater. Get ready for a brand new show!! It’s been my lifelong dream to be a Las Vegas girl, I’m so overjoyed! LOVE YOU LITTLE MONSTERS WE DID IT, MEET ME IN Las Vegas!! #LasVegasGoesGaga pic.twitter.com/UhPdW5wgXu

“I’ll leave my heart on the stage every single night,” Gaga said, after announcing the good news. “Thank you to my fans for always believing in me. Meet me in Las Vegas baby, we did it!”
As Refinery29 notes, this could be good news for Gaga fans for more reasons than one, since it could also possibly open up opportunities for the singer to explore other projects outside of music. (And considering how much we loved her in American Horror Story: Hotel, we’d gladly welcome more opportunities for Gaga to appear on our fave TV shows.) On a more personal note, the stability of staying in one place and allowing the fans to come to her could also help her better manage the chronic pain she deals with as a result of her fibromyalgia.
Though Britney will end her four year run in the city on New Year’s Eve of this year, Gaga will still be in good company — other headliners performing at MGM next year include Bruno Mars and Cher.
If this isn’t a good reason to head to Vegas sometime in the next two years, I don’t know what is.
