Let’s face it: we’re probably never getting another season of the Gilmore Girls Netflix reboot. It could be possible, but both the cast and creator Amy-Sherman Palladino have been pretty vague about a Season 2 since the revival launched in 2016. Plus, Sherman-Palladino and her husband and frequent creative partner Daniel Palladino are currently busy with their new Amazon series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which recently won two Golden Globes for the work of its leading actress Rachel Brosnahan and the overall series. While the series features Alex Borstein, who appeared on a few early Gilmore Girls episodes, another actress familiar with the Palladinos’ work is reportedly interested in a “marvelous” stint on the show.Â
Refinery29 reports that Lauren Graham has talked to Sherman-Palladino about appearing on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel soon. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter recently, Sherman-Palladino said, “I gotta get my girl Lauren on the show. I want to have her on it.”
Seeing as this new show takes place in the 1950s and Graham’s Lorelai was known for her old-school references, I am begging for this to happen. After all, we already know that Graham can rock period clothing!Â
Grahan apparently even has ideas about what kind of character she could play. “Lauren wants to be something very specific,” Sherman-Palladino said. “She has it all figured out.”
While Sherman-Palladino claims that Graham has talked with her about the show, Graham took to Twitter admitting that she doesn’t remember sharing character ideas with her. In true supportive fashion, she still managed to show that her collaborative relationship with Sherman-Palladino is strong to this day.
Love this idea! Love @MaiselTV. But I donât remember pitching Amy anything? So hopefully sheâll ignore whatever I said, and just write something cool (as she always does)! xL https://t.co/w7HL6lakLW

The show’s second season is due to begin production in March, which gives Graham plenty of time to clear her schedule for a guest spot. Creating strong female characters is a passion for Sherman-Palladino, so here’s hoping that she’s able to work with Graham to introduce yet another awesome woman on TV.Â
