Laurie Hernandez Wins ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Well, it turns out that 2016 is not all bad!

In a not-so-surprising turn of events last night, Laurie Hernandez and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, were named winners of this season of Dancing with the Stars and we could not be more excited for her. Hernandez, the Olympic gymnast who won America’s heart this summer in Rio, has always been a crowd favorite and it was made official last night when she was given the mirror ball trophy that every celebrity dreams of, according to Cosmopolitan

After she was declared the winner, she gave a heartfelt speech saying that all she wants to do is inspire others “as I go on with my journey” and “I just want to thank everyone for their support and riding along this crazy roller coaster of my life.” Well, Laurie, as long as you keep that positive attitude we will always be there for you!

Congratulations, Laurie! Check out the dance that won her the title below and try not to drool on your computer.
