Miley Cyrus released her new album, Younger Nowâwhich includes the hit single “Malibu”âon Friday. Earlier this week, on the Howard Stern Show, Miley opened up about how her longtime on-and-off boyfriend Liam Hemsworth inspired “Malibu.” Warning: This is the cutest story ever.
According to Refinery29, Miley’s breakup with Liam led him to Malibu, where, by crazy coincidence, he ended up buying a house Miley had a special connection to. âWhen Liamâheâs my boyfriend nowâbroke up for a minute, he wanted to get away from me, he wanted to go to Malibu, and bought this house. He didnât know it was the house I recorded my first album in!â Say what?!
You wonât believe what happened next. âThe person [selling the house] hid all the plaques in the garage so he would still buy the house. So then he went to move in and he was like âFuck, I cannot get away, this bitch is all over my fucking house!â
Apparently, it worked out well for Miley and Liam because theyâre now back together and live in the house together. Talk about a crazy twist of fate. âSo now that weâre back together, my song ‘Malibu’ is about the house that I live in, in Malibu, which is where I recorded my first album,â Cyrus told Stern.
Liam and Miley are extremely happy together at the moment but donât have plans to get married anytime soon. Miley told The Sun last month, “I’m 24. I hope I get to live a little bit more. I have too much living to do [before I get married].”
I’m happy for them, but I’m also very excited for the heartfelt album sheâll hopefully drop when they decide to tie the knot.
