This Familiar Actress In ‘Outer Banks’ Season 3 Has A Major Connection To The Show

Since the Outer Banks Season 1 premiere back in 2020, the Poguelandia friend group has become some of our on-screen best friends. With the fanbase of the Pogues constantly growing, the series’ actors are no longer newcomers to the industry. Madelyn Cline, who plays Sarah Cameron, has gone on to star in big hits, such as the Knives Out sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Chase Stokes, who plays John B, is working on a new romance titled Marked Men. The other actors of the beloved friend group — Jonathan Daviss, Madison Bailey, Rudy Pankow, and Season 2 addition Carlacia Grant — are also gaining fame of their own.

As Season 3 premiered on Feb. 23, fans were excited to reunite with the familiar faces of Poguelandia. Warning: Spoilers for Outer Banks Season 3 follow. In Season 3, after six weeks of being gone and many rescue missions later, the friend group returned back to the Outer Banks. While acclimating back into their lives in the OBX, Topper brought Sarah to hang out with some of her old Kook friends. While watching this scene, you might have spotted a familiar face among the Kooks, but not from her role in Outer Banks. Lilah Pate makes an appearance in Season 3 and, like the cast, she’s no longer a newcomer in the industry — here’s where you know her from.

You can thank Her dad for the Outer Banks series.

Being a Kook or a Pogue runs in Pate’s blood (literally). Her dad, Jonas Pate, is one of the three creators of the popular series. Because of this, she is always hooking us up with behind-the-scenes content, which has garnered her a following of her own. From videos of the cast fooling around on set to her dad in action, she fills the void left after you finish binge-watching the show each season. Also, she’s a part of the real-life Poguelandia group as she is besties with members of the cast. So, you might recognize her from being in some of your faves’ Instagram posts.

When she’s not shooting BTS content, she’s an extra in the show. Lilah made an appearance in Season 1 in both the pilot and Episode 9 as Peeler, one of the teens on the island. She even had a solo speaking moment as she uttered the words “dead body” when showing the group of friends a picture of the body that was found in the first episode. In Season 2, you could also spot her in the background of some shots. In Season 3, she plays a more prominent role as she talks to Sarah as well as some other Kooks at the beach hangout in Episode 6. I guess being a creator’s daughter has its perks.

Lilah Pate makes an appearance in another popular series, The Summer I Turned Pretty.

If you’re just now noticing Lilah in Season 3, that might be due to her recent appearance in the Prime Video series The Summer I Turned Pretty (TSITP). Lilah played Gigi in the TV adaptation of the TSITP book series that had everyone glued to their screens in the summer of 2022. (P.S. she provides top-notch behind-the-scenes content for that as well).

Gigi is one of the fellow debutante girls, who has a crush on Jeremiah Fisher, making her a regular appearance in the first season. It has yet to be confirmed if Gigi will be making a return in Season 2 of TSITP, but as this was a big role for Lilah, I’m sure we can expect to see her in more TV appearances outside of this show.

Off-screen, Lilah Pate is living her best college life at USC.

Putting the OBX family tree and TSITP role aside, Lilah is just a regular college student at heart. When she’s not hanging with the Pogues or crushing over the Fisher boys, she’s making University of Southern California sorority rush TikToks. I’m not going to lie, I want to be Lilah Pate when I grow up.
