Lose the Freshman 15: Finding My Groove

Hey Guys!

So sorry for the ridiculously long absence! I had Spring Break last week and it was spent at home where the internet connection was slower than a snail and I could not upload anything! Spring break was good. I did not go crazy eating wise and I managed to get some work outs in, though a lot of my working out was shopping ;)

I got back to school on Sunday and these past two days have been so unbelievably crazy between figuring out a new work out schedule and figuring out my classes. I am so sick of wait listing classes! Like I mentioned, with a new quarter comes new classes meaning I have to alter my work out schedule. Last quarter my work outs and group classes fit really nicely within my school classes, but this quarter is going to be tough. I also am going to be following a running plan to get in training for my 10k in May! Along with running, I have decided to try Bikram Yoga because I need more flexibility.

With the new quarter, I have a new tool for my journey. It is a Healthy Lifestyle Journey. I got myself a small 3-subject notebook and am going to record my life in there! The first section is my food log where I will write everything I eat. It really helps keep me on track.
The second section is dedicated to my work outs because I want to see how often I work out and be able to reward myself for working out a certain number of times.
The third section is for inspirational quotes, pictures and my progress chart including measurements and weight loss (which is about 6lbs in 3 weeks thanks to SELF!) 

I am not tracking calories because I have already mentioned how that doesn’t work for me. Yet this journal will be a fun, but useful tool to help keep me motivated and accountable.

Anyways, this quarter is going to be a bit tougher than the last and I already have a lot of writing assignments to complete.

What is your current work out routine?

Jessica is currently studying Graphic Design and Psychology at UC Davis. She hopes to one day move to New York and work for a fashion or fitness magazine. When she is not dreaming about her life in New York, she is either running, watching shows on hulu, socializing or baking cupcakes. She loves anything that will make her laugh, sunny days  and everything purple!
