Greetings Collegiettes™!
I am so excited to be given an opportunity to blog and share my journey with all of you!
I am a 2nd year at the University of California, Davis majoring in Graphic Design and Psychology!
Though this blog is about losing the freshmen 15, I am here to lose the Freshmen 20. Yikes! Like most freshmen, I lived in the dorms and ate at the Dining Commons, or what we at Davis refer to as, the ‘DC’. Our DC was set up as in an all-you-can-eat style which wreaked havoc on my eating habits. The idea that you could have dessert at ANY meal and could go back for seconds, thirds or fourths was damaging. With the endless possibilities in the DC, the stress of college-level work and the slight homesickness throughout the year, my weight started to creep up on me. I am definitely an emotional eater and through this journey I hope to lessen my dependency on food to comfort me.
Being in my own apartment for the first ever and having to cook for myself EVERY meal is a scary thought. That is why I have found the Jump Start Diet to be a great tool. Not only does it give me great weight loss tips and recipes, but it has a convenient shopping list so I know what I am looking for at the market!
I have a few goals I want to accomplish on this journey:
1) Lose 20 pounds while developing a healthier relationship with food- no more emotional eating. Food is FUEL so I can be the healthiest version of me!
2) Work out 5-6 days a week and try new ways to exercise. I currently am becoming addicted to running but I want to experiment with Yoga and Zumba. Have you had amazing experiences with either? Let me know in the comment section!
3) Cut down on sugar. Raise your hand if you have the biggest sweet tooth in the world! Yea, I need to cut down on the sweets.
I hope you all enjoy following me and reading my blog. I promise a more in depth post about my approaches tomorrow once I have had enough sleep and am not stressing over mid terms! Please share you thoughts, advice or questions with me. Don’t waste any more time and sign up at SELF for the Jump Start Diet! We can do this together! Let us all be FFF- FIT, FIERCE and FABULOUS!
xx Jessica
