Love Is Blind Season 4 alums Jackie Bonds and Josh Demas have called it quits. Two weeks after the couple appeared on Love Is Blind: After The Altar, which premiered on Sept. 1, Jackie went on Instagram Live on Sept. 18 to announce her breakup from Josh. Not only did Jackie share the reason for their split, but she also revealed that her former BFF and Josh’s ex-fiancée, Monica Rodriguez, was involved. Yikes.
In the IG Live video, the 27-year-old dental assistant said Josh had broken up with her after she allegedly went against his wishes and had a conversation with Monica. “[I’m] still sick about it low-key. I love that man,” Jackie said. “I was like, ‘Damn, I had all these life plans with you,’ you know? And then you just don’t even care. And I’m like, ‘That’s crazy, over a conversation with somebody?’ It don’t matter.” Her Campus reached out to Josh’s team for comment but didn’t hear back by the time of publication.
Jackie added that she allegedly “begged” Josh to stay with her. “I tried to fix it, I tried to mend it. I did everything I could, and what’s crazy is that looking back at these messages, I look like a begging ass b*tch, and I never beg no one to be with me,” she said. “It is what it is.” Jackie has since deleted all traces of Josh from her Instagram feed.
If I’m being honest, I’m not surprised by this breakup, and neither are Love Is Blind fans. Since learning of Jackie and Josh’s split, X (formerly known as Twitter) has been filling up with fan reactions, and it seems everyone feels the same toward this news.
Some can’t contain their joy over this.
Meanwhile, others believe this breakup proves karma is real after the way Bonds ended things with Marshall Glaze in the pods.
Though many aren’t surprised by this split, I’m going to go ahead and assume Monica isn’t either given the fact she told Jackie that Josh was the “wrong guy” for her during After The Altar. “You should never have to choose between who you’re with and your best friend, otherwise, you’re with the wrong guy,” Monica told Jackie while trying to clear the air about her previous engagement to Josh. “I don’t want Josh to get in the middle of this. As much as I respect your relationship, friendships last forever. Not saying that you and Josh won’t. But if it doesn’t, I’m gonna be here I never tell you to leave him when you guys go through your sh*t.”
