Rapper Mac Miller was found dead on Friday at his home in California. TMZ first reported the news, but the 26-year-old’s family confirmed his death in an issued statement.
“Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26,” the statement read. He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans. Thank you for your prayers. Please respect our privacy.”
According to numerous sources, Miller died of an apparent overdose; however, his family said they have “no further details as to the cause of his death at this time.”
In addition to Miller’s family, friends and fellow celebrities have also spoken out about Miller and the type of person he was.
