So, Matty Healy *Finally* Acknowledged Those Taylor Swift Dating Rumors… Kind Of

Taylor Swift fans have been going crazy the past couple of months about the star’s love life: first, she and Joe Alwyn broke up after six years of dating, and soon after, there have been rumors swirling around that she and Matt Healy (of The 1975) are dating. Conveniently, all of this is going on during Swift’s Eras Tour where fans are investigating more into her love life. The split between Taylor and Joe was shocking enough, so we were even more shook when rumors started flooding the internet that she might be dating The 1975’s frontman. 

Healy has been spotted at a few of Swift’s concerts recently, they have been spotted holding hands and going to dinner together, and fans are going nuts. When he has been at Swift’s concerts, he’s been seen sitting with Taylor’s parents, which has fans freaking TF out. On May 27, Healy took a risk when opening his band’s set at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Scotland, and commented on his relationship with Taylor… well, kind of.  

The band’s frontman refused to mention Swift by name, but said to the crowd: “Is it all a bit? Is it sincere? Will he ever address it? All of these questions and more will be ignored in the next hour. Ladies and gentlemen, this is The 1975.” This is the first time that either of the pop stars has publicly addressed whether they are together or not. Healy teased the crowd and stuck to his word: he did not say anything further the rest of the night.

However, Swifties are conflicted over her rumored relationship with Healy, as he has been criticized for his controversial comments. Back in February, Healy was the subject of controversy after allegedly mocking Ice Spice’s heritage on a podcast. However, he addressed this controversy at a concert in April and stated: “Ice Spice, I’m sorry. It’s not because I’m annoyed that me joking got misconstrued. It’s because I don’t want Ice Spice to think I’m a d*ck. I love you, Ice Spice. I’m so sorry.”

With that being said, Swift just released a new version of her 2022 song “Karma” with rapper Ice Spice featured, making this controversy even more interesting, especially if Swift and Healy are actually together.

The latest rumor is that Swift and Healy are collaborating to release a new song together. People are really excited and hoping for this collab to come true. Despite all of the controversies surrounding Healy, fans just want Taylor to be happy, and it def seems like she is. She is smiling ear to ear when she’s around him so hopefully they hard launch soon and give the fans what they want!
