Megan Thee Stallion Is The MCU’s Newest Addition

She’s got a Grammy. She’s got her college degree. Now, the Houston hottie herself, Megan Thee Stallion, is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And honestly? It’s probably the best decision like, ever.

Yesterday morning The Cut confirmed Megan’s involvement in the MCU by reporting her appearance in Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. This article solidified the rumors that have been built up for months after people began to speculate about her participation in this universe. The rumors started after Marche Day, stunt double, updated her resume with She-Hulk: Attorney At Law and Megan’s name attached to the project.

While not much is known about her role yet, this is huge for the Texas rapper as she preaches female empowerment in her music. She-Hulk will join other female-led Marvel series like WandaVision, Ms. Marvel, and Hawkeye on Disney plus—which is new in the MCU. Not only is this empowering to women as a whole, but Megan’s involvement is also empowering to POC women who don’t see much representation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe—there are not many women of color who lead Marvel films.

However, Megan having this opportunity is a stepping stone for more to come. Marvel movies and TV shows have led to spin-offs that have blown up in recent years. For example, Loki, I Am Groot, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are spin-off series. By Marvel expanding their content, it may allow more POC to have opportunities to lead these franchises.

In the aforementioned The Cut article, Megan further expressed how she is inspired by other icons like Queen Latifah and Ice Cube, who took their careers to new heights by not staying in one lane. Both of these icons delved into TV, film, and music which led to them receiving BET awards, NAACP awards, and their name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In recent years, Megan seems to be expanding her horizons outside of music as well: she’s worked with Popeyes to make her own sauce, won 3 Grammys and other awards for music, and graduated from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor’s degree in health administration all at once. That is some Real Hot Girl Sh*t!

This will not be Megan Thee Stallion’s first time on the small screen, however. She played Tina Snow (named after her real-life alter ego) in season 2, episode 9 of Starz’s series P-Valley. She was also a judge on the HBOMax series Legendary and appeared on the canceled too soon NBC series Good Girls. In addition to She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, Megan has also been cast in A24’s musical comedy F*cking Identical Twins, though not much information about her character yet.

I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to see Megan join the MCU. My fingers are crossed that she will have superpowers to match her ultimate boss babe attitude, as well as having some iconic fashion moments. Until then I know what I will be doing while I wait for the series to start streaming: go on hot-girl walks, take zero crap, listen to Megan’s new album Traumazine, obvi.

Makaila loves quoting movies, listening to music, watching tv, reading books, etc, etc. She also never misses a beat with her skincare routine and will most likely always be seen with a coffee in hand. When she is not writing, she is traveling and trying new foods.
