On Nov. 20, the American Music Awards took place in Los Angeles, and something caught the eyes of many TikTokers: Meghan Trainor brought Chris Olsen, better known as @chris on TikTok, as her guest. The two have been hanging out a lot — I mean, a LOT — and their red carpet outing is beginning to make people wonder about the nature of their relationship.
The two talk about their friendship all the time, and we even have seen the two hanging out making TikToks on both of their accounts with Trainor’s husband, son, and other celebrity friends. With their recent appearance on the AMAs red carpet, they have people speculating if this relationship is more professional than personal. Honestly, people just want to know if Olsen is working for Trainor as her social media person. Her Campus reached out to both Trainor’s and Olsen’s teams, but did not hear back by the time of publication.
In a recent interview with Billboard on the AMAs red carpet with Mackenzie Ziegler, Olsen and Trainor explained how their friendship started after Olsen was a guest on Trainor’s and her brother’s podcast, Workin’ On It with Meghan Trainor & Ryan Trainor. The two hit it off, and Trainor didn’t want to stop making TikToks with Olsen which led to their current TikTok era. The two did try to trick fans with one of their first videos posted on Olsen’s account: They showed a photo of Olsen and Trainor from when they were younger and claimed to have been best friends since childhood, but it was actually fake. Since then, the two have been posting TikToks together non-stop — but is it possibly because Olsen actually works for Trainor, or could they simply be collaborating to get each other more views and engagement?
The first sign that has fans thinking Olsen may be working for Trainor is that in a majority of their TikTok videos together, a Meghan Trainor song is used. Olsen has used Trainor’s songs “No,” “Title,” ”Me Too,” ”Made You Look,” and more. Even Trainor herself has talked about some of her old songs trending out of nowhere.
Another sign that Olsen may be working for Trainor is a video posted by Trainor and another by Olsen that could be perceived as them basically saying that Olsen has been helping Trainor with her TikToks by giving her ideas and helping to create this new Meghan Trainor renaissance. Lastly, Olsen appeared in Trainor’s music video “Made You Look” at the end, where he jokingly tells Trainor what to do for her TikTok. This moment could be adding flames to the rumor that Olsen is working for Trainor making the rounds on TikTok.
Either way, the two have been having fun and bring joy to our FYPs with their friendship content. I know I am a fan, and can’t deny that their relationship is fun to watch and relatable. Olsen’s new video alone is enough to solidify that these two aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, and I will definitely be continuing to follow their friendship on my TikTok!
