Miley Cyrus was the woman of the hour at the 2024 Grammys. After winning her first-ever Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Performance for âFlowers,â she hit the stage to sing the now Grammy-award-winning song, and itâs one that Iâll never forget.Â
Cyrus has had all eyes on her at the 2024 Grammys, and there are lots of reasons why: She was nominated for six Grammy Awards, wore an incredibly unique outfit, and of course, made a statement with her iconic hair look. She changed things up a bit when she went on stage to sing her hit song âFlowers,â and she totally called out the crowd for not singing along with her. As she should.
âFlowersâ is one of Cyrusâ biggest hits of all time. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks and broke Spotifyâs record for most streams in a single week with more than 100 million listens according to Variety. So, when she started to sing the song and the crowd wasnât singing along much, she reminded them that she is that girl.Â
A little bit after she started singing, she said into the microphone, âWhy are yâall acting like yâall donât know this song?â I mean, she has a point.
But it doesnât stop there. She also added in some of her own ad-libs throughout the song. Before singing the last chorus, Cyrus sang âstarted to cry then remembered I / [Just won my first Grammy!]â Iconic.Â
While some of the crowd didnât pass the test, there were lots of celebrities who were singing along and vibing with Cyrus. One of the most notable being none other than Taylor Swift.
Mileyâs performance was so refreshing to watch, and itâs amazing to see her vocals and talent finally being rewarded. If you need me, Iâll be re-entering my âFlowersâ phase.Â
