Muggles, this is truly your year! Many of you are just finishing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (jk we finished it the day it came out) and emotionally prepping yourselves for the glory that will be Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but the last thing you probably expected was to have more Harry Potter goodness grace you this year. Let us be among the first to tell you that more magic is coming your way because three new books will be released in less than a month. Â
The new books will be short-form e-book content by J. K. Rowling and brought to you by Pottermore Presents, which realizes “not all Harry Potter fans who want to read more about the wizarding world visit pottermore.com so we’ve developed Pottermore Presents to reach those fans through other channels.” We aren’t sure if that means the new books will be a more easily accessible version of already existing Pottermore content or if it will be all new, but either way we’re thrilled.Â
Already listed on Amazon.com, the book descriptions basically have us foaming at the mouth. The first book is Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists, which will give “a glimpse into the darker side of the wizarding world, revealing the ruthless roots of Professor Umbridge, the lowdown on the Ministers for Magic and the history of the wizarding prison Azkaban. You will also delve deeper into Horace Slughorn’s early years as Potions master at Hogwarts – and his acquaintance with one Tom Marvolo Riddle.”
The second will be Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies, about profiling “two of the Harry Potter stories’ most courageous and iconic characters: Minerva McGonagall and Remus Lupin. J.K. Rowling also gives us a peek behind the closed curtains of Sybill Trelawney’s life, and you’ll encounter the reckless, magical-beast-loving Silvanus Kettleburn along the way.”
Finally, you have Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide, which “takes you on a journey to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You’ll venture into the Hogwarts grounds, become better acquainted with its more permanent residents, learn more about lessons and discover secrets of the castle.”
You can get these three little beauties starting September 6 for $2.99 each on Kindle. We know what we’ll be doing come September!
