To celebrate the people across America participating in the Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service, the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) is hosting an hour-long program at 8pm EST on Monday, January 18. As the only holiday federally designated a day of service, this day “on” is an opportunity to come together with your neighbors to improve your community – and this year, many of our communities need our support more than ever.
Featuring entertainers and inspirational speakers, including Rev. Dr. Bernice King, Martin Luther King III, Andra Day and Yo-Yo Ma, and celebratory stories about MLK’s legacy and the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to service, United We Serve: A Celebration of the National MLK Day of Service can be streamed right here on Her Campus.Â
The event follows Saturday’s America United: An Inauguration Welcome Event Celebrating America’s Changemakers, and is just one of many happening this week that were designed to offer the American people a way to come together and participate in inaugural week activities in ways they never have before in the days leading up to the moment President-elect Joe Biden is sworn in.Â
Check back in on Tuesday, January 19 for a nationwide COVID-19 memorial, and be sure to stay tuned for more to come! Â
