Last week I took a trip to Santa Monica, California, for the revealing of the re-styled 11th generation Toyota Corolla. The event was held inside Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and more than 750 consumers, journalists, and Toyota guests attended. The event had entertainment like a captivating theatrical performance by Fuerza Bruta and fog clouds from celebrity chef Richard Blais’s liquid nitrogen cocktails!
At the beginning of the evening, we ate delicious food, including roasted pork belly with licorice grits and pickled peaches from Blais’s custom menu. Blais, who recently published his first cookbook, Try This at Home, was on season four of Top Chef and won Top Chef All-Stars, for which he received his own Corolla among other prizes. Partnering with Los Angeles gourmet catering company Along Came Mary, Blais prepared awesome items in front of us, like the fog-inducing liquid nitrogen margaritas!
But the biggest part of the evening was the reveal of the 2014 Corolla—lowered from the rafters! Cool, right? The all-new 2014 Corolla is just as reliable and efficient as the former Corolla models, but it has dramatically amplified elements of style, design, quality, and craftsmanship, making it Toyota’s most surprising and capable Corolla yet. The sleeker, more advanced 2014 Corolla has chiseled, modern character lines, a more premium interior, improved fuel economy, and an enhanced driving performance.
Overall, I was totally impressed with the new Corolla and the amazing evening!
