Nicki Minaj Collaborated With J. Cole On “Let Me Calm Down” & Fans Are Unwell

Brabs everywhere; this is not a drill! Nicki Minaj and J. Cole have come together for the first time on “Let Me Calm Down,” one of the new songs from Minaj’s highly anticipated album Pink Friday 2. The album is a sequel to Minaj’s iconic Pink Friday, which dropped back in 2010 and remains a solidified classic 13 years later. A Pink Friday like none other, the release of Pink Friday 2 falls on Minaj’s birthday — Dec. 8 — and really is a gift (just in time for the holidays).

Just a few hours before Pink Friday 2 became available on streaming platforms, Minaj revealed the tracklist, riling up fans even more. The album includes features from Billie Eilish, Drake, and Lil Wayne, just to name a few. Some of these features were to be expected from Minaj as she usually works with her Young Money alums. The feature fans didn’t have on their 2023 Bingo cards has been the topic of conversation.

Since the album dropped, people on the internet haven’t been able to contain themselves after hearing “Let Me Calm Down.” I can already see the TikTok edits.

A collaboration like this is entirely unexpected in all the best ways possible. Although Minaj and J. Cole have been around in the rap industry for some time, they’ve never collaborated on a song together, making “Let Me Calm Down” all the more special. J. Cole has kept fans across the internet on their toes as he continues collaborating with some of the biggest artists in the music industry. Further solidifying himself as the king of features, J. Cole strikes again by giving fans something they didn’t know they needed in “Let Me Calm You Down.”

In an Instagram live stream in October 2023, Minaj said, “I will bet any amount of money that Pink Friday 2 is going to make people fall in love immediately.” As far as her song with J. Cole goes, she might be right.

Of course, fans had to share their reactions to the song on X (formerly known as Twitter) and many are already obsessed.

Most can’t get over J. Cole’s verse in the track and TBH, I can’t either.

This feels like the beginning of a new era for Minaj. With the virality of Gag City and all the fun features on Pink Friday 2, the Barbs have an exciting year ahead.
