Cuffing season is coming to an end. Cardi B has finally put the rumors to rest after days filled with cheating allegations and online drama regarding her relationship with Offset. The 31-year-old rapper confirmed that she is a single woman once again on an Instagram Live this weekend.
A clip from the IG Live started circulating on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Dec. 11 with posts receiving thousands of likes in just a couple of hours.
“I’ve been flying solo for a while now,” she says in the clip. “But I feel like today has been a sign. The last time I got on Live, I kind of wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you, so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now. I just took it as a sign.” She goes on to say that she wants 2024 to be a new beginning for her and that despite being single, she’s excited.
All of this came after a week of online buzz about Blueface’s claim in a now-deleted tweet that Offset and his ex-girlfriend Chrisean Rock had hooked up at Cardi’s L.A. home back in November. Chrisean immediately denied the accusations, replying to said tweet that he was just “making up sh*t.” Offset also took to X defending himself saying that he would “never talk or touch that lady.” It is still speculation that this was in direct correlation to Cardi and Offset’s breakup. Her Campus reached out to Offset’s team for comment, but did not hear back at the time of publication.
But, it wasn’t a surprise that the two rappers had broken up when fans caught the two unfollowing each other on Instagram, foreshadowing the breakup. She posted a few cryptic Instagram stories saying, “You know when you just outgrow relationships,” followed by “I’m tired of protecting people’s feelings…I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST!”
“I don’t know if you guys have been getting clues from me, from my Lives, or from my Stories, when I put some certain music, or find my unfollowings,” she said during the infamous Instagram Live.
Tying the knot in 2017, Cardi filed for divorce in 2020, citing infidelity allegations but later withdrew the filing. The pair has two children together: a five-year-old daughter named Kulture Kiari Cephus and a two-year-old son named Wave Set Cephus. They had recently celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary, with Offset posting a heartfelt caption on Instagram.
Despite that, it was no surprise to fans when Card finally confirmed the breakup. And as unfortunate as it is, it seems like she just wants to move on and start 2024 on the right foot.
