Two individuals were fatally shot at Campbell Hall, a dorm at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan on Friday. According to the university, the two shot were not students and there were no additional injuries. Police said they believe the shooting arose from a domestic situation. As of 10:43 am, the shooter was still at large and the campus was on lockdown.

According to The Mount Pleasant Morning Sun, the victims were the shooter’s parents.
At 10:23 am, the City of Mount Pleasant tweeted that the person of interest is a black male of nineteen years old wearing mustard yellow jeans and a blue hoodie. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
CMU was to begin spring break on Monday, so many parents were arriving on campus to pick up their kids Friday morning. The university says that “those planning to come to campus today to pick up students for spring break should stay off campus until further notice.” Police are asking instead for parents to go to a nearby Comfort Inn.The Morning Sun reports that all schools in Isabella County are in lockdown and that a helicopter is on campus to help with the search. Agents from the FBI are also reportedly on their way.

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder tweeted that he is contact with the police: “The priority right now is the safety of those still on campus and I thank all first responders involved for their swift action.”
