It has been almost three years since Rihanna has graced us with an album, and it looks like the wait may soon be over!Â
The singer confirmed on Friday that her long-awaited ninth studio album will be released sometime next year. While promoting Fenty Beauty’s new lipstick collection, a fan commented on the Instagram post, “But when is the new album coming Robyn? Can we have a release date for that?”Â
Rihanna answered with, “2019.” Â
While no further detailed were announced, Rihanna’s vocal producer Kuk Harrell revealed earlier this week to NME that the album is “incredible” and “amazing” adding that “that’s all I’m going to say.”Â
She hasn’t released a new album since Anti in 2016, which was nominated for two Grammys. But the singer has definitely been busy since then! Back in 2017 Refinery29 reports, Rihanna was named Harvard University’s Humanitarian of the Year for her work with UNICEF and her own charity the Believe Foundation. The foundation works to support critically-ill children in Barbados. She later launched her successful makeup line Fenty Beauty. In 2018, she launched her size-inclusive lingerie line Savage x Fenty and starred in Oceans 8. She also has a ton of other projects in 2019, which includes starring in Guava Bay.Â
While we don’t know the exact date of the album’s release, this new’s is certainly an early holiday gift to RiRi’s fans!Â
