Rihanna is no fan of subtlety. In fact, her just released “Needed Me” music video is as shockingly addictive as her previous controversial showings for “Work” and “Kiss It Better.” Rihanna released the video at 12 p.m. today; within 30 minutes, it had almost 500,000 views.
The music video is essentially a condensed film, with a storyline crafted by director Harmony Korine. Rihanna is draped in an ethereal white robe while casually slinging a gun around. She is as fierce as ever as she seeks revenge against a former lover licking his wounds at a smoke-filled strip club.
Needless to say, this video packs more nudity and violence into a three-minute period than your average R-rated flick. It’s signature Korine—you might remember him as the director of a rather buzzworthy film called Spring Breakers.
