Track Palin, former Governor and VP candidate Sarah Palin’s oldest son, was arrested for a second time on domestic violence-related charges.
Court records indicate he was arraigned on Sunday in Alaska for “felony burglary, assault in the fourth degree and criminal mischief for causing property damage,” NBC News reports. The same records said that all of these charges were domestic violence related.
Unfortunately, that wouldn’t be all that surprising given in January of 2016 Track Palin was charged with assault in the fourth degree for hitting his girlfriend, interfering with a domestic violence report, and misconduct involving weapons, since he was drunk while handling an AR-15 rifle.
Palin plead guilty to misconduct with a weapon, but the other charges were dismissed (likely because of some very good lawyering). After this initial incident, his mom, former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin, blamed his time in Iraq for him becoming “hardened.”Â
An attorney for his parents, John Tiemessen, told NBC News the Palins would not be commenting: “Given the nature of actions addressed last night by law enforcement and the charges involved, the Palins are unable to comment further. They ask that the family’s privacy is respected during this challenging situation just as others dealing with a struggling family member would also request.”
Specific details of the event aren’t clear, but the Associated Press reported that, as of Sunday afternoon, Palin was still in jail in Palmer, Alaska.
