Um, Is Everything Good With Selena Gomez & Francia Raisa?

There seems to be a rift between Selena Gomez and her long-time friend Francia Raisa after the premiere of Gomez’s new Apple TV documentary, My Mind and Me. In an interview with Rolling Stone ahead of the release, Gomez said Taylor Swift is her “only friend in the industry.”

After speculation that the comment might be a dig at Raisa, star of How I Met Your Father, Raisa commented under an E! News Instagram post about the quote with “Interesting.” Her comment appears to have since been deleted.

Solidifying the tension between the two, Gomez clapped back with the response, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know,” under a TikTok about the situation created by Stephanie Tleiji.

Gomez and Raisa’s history makes this friendship feud so heartbreaking for fans. In September 2017, Selena Gomez announced on Instagram that she needed a kidney transplant due to her Lupus diagnosis. Raisa donated her kidney to her, and Gomez publicly thanked Raisa for saving her life. The singer and actress wrote to Instagram, “There aren’t words to describe how I  can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much, sis.”

Gomez and Raisa have been friends for over a decade, and they first met in 2007 while visiting a children’s hospital. Not only is the former Grown-ish star Raisa no longer following Selena on Instagram, but she wasn’t even mentioned in the documentary, even though it covers the last six years of the Disney Channel alum’s life.

The response to the feud seems to be split fifty-fifty, with some people siding with Gomez and others with Raisa. Some fans feel like Gomez has given Raisa more than enough thanks, while others believe that Gomez is forever indebted to Raisa for her courageous deed to her friend.

In July, Raisa was featured on Gomez’s TikTok, hopping on the “He’s a 10 but…” TikTok challenge. In the video, they seem to be on good terms with each other; hopefully, there is a chance for reconciliation soon.
