These IG Notes Are Perfect For The Holiday Szn

Is anyone else a little bamboozled by the new IG Notes feature? On Dec. 14, Instagram began rolling out a new tool on the app called “Notes”. Think of it as a new and updated take on those little AIM blurbs we used to set back in the day, or even as the archaic middle school Facebook statuses. In just 60 characters, you now have the ability to let all of your followers (or just your Close Friends) know what’s on your mind. And β€” if you’re anything like me β€” chances are that your mind is dancing in the world of sugarplums and holiday shopping. ‘Tis the season for impending credit card debt, right?

While IG Notes has been a bit controversial, to say the least, some users are embracing this change by writing out Notes of their own. And if you’re not in the mood to set a snarky, sarcastic, and witty Notes message as your first post, consider spreading some of that holiday cheer into the inboxes of your friends and followers. We need something to distract us from the fact that we have way too much Christmas shopping left to do.

“did u buy ur mom a present yet?”

Since Notes show up in your followers’ inboxes, this is the perfect time to remind them to buy a gift for their mom β€” or any other person in their life. Speaking of, I might have some shopping to do…

“Dm me for my Christmas list.”

Oh, and tell my partner to do this, too.

“Single & ready to jingle (bell rock).”

Let your followers know your relationship status, but with a holiday twist. Wink.

“My DMs are the naughty list 🌢️ .”

Spicy!

“Me every day: slay. Me in December: sleigh.”

Perfect for the holiday season, amiright?

“Sleigh. πŸ’… ❄️ “

Keep it simple β€” and sassy, obviously.

“Send me ur best hot cocoa recipe. β˜• “

Mine is this one from Spoon University if you were wondering.

“Anyone wanna meet under the mistletoe? πŸ˜‰ “

See who might be thirsty for you… it’s cuffing season after all!

“in hibernation, text if needed. 😴 “

A much cuter, winter-themed way to say you’re busy (or sleeping).

“@ santa’s workshop, Don’t Txt. πŸŽ… “

Again, a festive way to let people know you’ll be offline for a bit.

“Christmas movie recs?”

Asking for a friend.

“‘Tis the damn season.”

Swifties, unite!

“Feast mode.πŸŽ„πŸ½οΈ “

Can’t text. At Christmas dinner. G2G.

“It’s me, hi, i’m the gift, it’s me! 🎁 “

The Taylor Swift-Christmas crossover we all needed.

“happy holidays! ✨”

Short, sweet, and to the point. We love to see it.
