We’re still reeling from Kim Kardashian being bound and robbed at gunpoint in Paris and how it led to suspension of Keeping Up with the Kardashians production, but there’s now another update to this saga—Kim’s ongoing silence on social media (and overall) this month could be costing her around $1 million. Cosmopolitan reports that, after the scare in Paris, she’s taking a month-long break from her usual responsibilites, which include online posting and event appearances.Â
Â
Kim’s social media posts usually bring her a monthly total of $1 million, People writes. Celebrity financial advisor Samuel Rad believes that her in-person appearances can generate between $200,000 and $300,000. While we small folk might see taking a break from this as a huge financial loss, Rad suggests that Kim’s absence could have positive results. “I think what’s going to happen is the first post she’s going to put up after not having posted for [a while], it’s going to get so many more followers and hits,” he tells People. “I think that it might actually end up helping her.”Â
In addition to this time out of the public eye, Kim has put extra emphasis on strengthening her security team. Understandably, she is now expected to have round-the-clock security, particularly because she was attacked in the early morning hours. According to security consultant Joseph M. LaSorsa, Kim’s security costs could increase by 10 times. LaSorsa shares that Kim will probably hire “two to four individuals…just assigned to be there in addition to the close, personal protection” that has always been around.Â
By stepping away from the spotlight for awhile, Kim is focusing on the protection of her family, especially her two young children, North and Saint. “She has no plans to work in the near future,” a source says to People. “She just wants to stay home with her kids.” Obviously, Kim’s still recovering from the trauma of the robbery, and we think she should take all the time she needs to feel safe again. In the end, no amount of money is worth feeling that you’re in danger.Â
