Anyone in college knows just how amazing it is to receive extra credit—it can make the difference between fininshing the semester strong or going down a grade after the final. While some professors have strict policies limiting students’ opportunities to receive extra credit, this awesome Missouri State University professor delivered in a big way by seeing the humor in things.
Student Deondre Wallace earned some major brownie points with his classmates after convincing his professor to award 20 points of extra credit to the entire class.
On Dec. 5, Wallace sent a Christmas-inspired email to his professor asking for extra credit and explaining his personal struggles, Cosmopolitan reports.

“Dr. Moore, It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and no I don’t mean Christmas,” Wallace started off the email. “It’s extra credit season! I know in your syllabus it says in bold and all caps ‘no extra credit, so don’t ask’ yet here I am anyways.”
He followed up with some lyrics from the classic Black Eyed Peas song “Where Is The Love,” and something in there touched Dr. Moore’s heart.
The professor replied promptly: “For making me laugh, I will just give you and the rest of the class 20 extra credit points. It’s been a pleasure having you in class this semester.”
This just proves there are some really understanding professors out there who are willing to help you out (and who like a good laugh!). This story is truly a Christmas miracle!
