SZA Said She & Miley Will “Work Together” & Twitter Really Hopes It’s For A Collab

The internet is not OK right now, and it has everything to do with SZA’s latest tweet about Miley Cyrus. You can’t seem to go anywhere these days without hearing about either SZA or Cyrus, especially with the release of their highly anticipated music in the last few weeks. Fans didn’t take long to figure out the underlying meaning behind Cyrus’s latest single, “Flowers,” which is widely believed to take aim at her rocky relationship with Liam Hemsworth. With Cyrus announcing that her latest album, Endless Summer Vacation, will be released on March 10, fans can’t help but wonder who will appear on the album. There were rumors that there may be a Cyrus and Selena Gomez collab in the works, but another collab may be brewing due to a possible confirmation from SZA herself.

Chart Data tweeted that “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Jan. 24, marking her second single to reach this milestone since the release of “Wrecking Ball” nearly 10 years ago. SZA responded to the tweet with her own, congratulating Cyrus and expressing her excitement to “work together.” Wait a minute… work together on what?

The latter comment, in particular, sparked a frenzy on the internet. While fans aren’t entirely sure what SZA is referring to, it has fueled speculation about which songs or work the two may collaborate on. With speculation that Cyrus may appear in a remix version of “F2F,” a song from SZA’s album SOS that fans believe will best suit the singer due to her influence in the pop-punk genre, or even a remix version of “Nobody Gets Me.” People are also thinking that SZA will appear on Cyrus’ upcoming album with a brand new song that has yet to be announced. Fans of both stars have started to flood the comments section of SZA’s tweet with excitement about this potentially unexpected collaboration.

Neither Cyrus nor SZA have elaborated more on this, beyond SZA tweeting, “Surprises coming soon” — with a devil emoji, of course. While we’ll have to wait to find out if a Cyrus-SZA collab is one of those surprises, it seems like the star has something up her sleeve.
