All that glitters is gold — especially at the gold party Tarte hosted on their brand trip in Dubai. Tarte’s Jan. 19 gold-themed party was held for their A-list influencers, and it was complete with luxurious candles and floral decor. The party was yet another development in a series of lavish adventures planned for the influencers — a reminder that celebrities are “just like us” until they’re not.Â
Meredith Duxbury wore a gorgeous orange dress with a shining gold handbag to complement the look. Ellie Zeiler went with a shimmering bronze long-sleeve dress with gold heels to match. There were more creative outfits worn by the influencers as well, including Maya Ahmad’s flowing white dress paired with a purple purse and flower crown, and Esther Taniaj’s pink floral outfit with fairy wings as the finishing touch.Â
Alix Earle, TikTok star and University of Miami senior, landed in Dubai earlier in the week for the glamorous influencer vacation, with her mom as her plus one. She was joined by TikTok beauty creators — like Meredith Duxbur, Monet McMichael, and Christine Abraham, amongst others — from eight different countries that Tarte flew out to Dubai for an all-expenses-paid trip.Â
Tarte Cosmetics, headquartered in New York City, is an American cosmetic company known for their distinctive purple packaging. According to estimates circling on the internet, Tarte likely spent $100K to $200K for each influencer and their guest. The influencers and their plus-ones are staying at The Ritz Carlton, Ras Al Khaimah, Al Hamra Beach in luxury villas.Â
Tarte always seems to make a splash. From the brand’s 2018 influencer trip to Bora Bora to gifting Roombas to influencers on their PR list, Tarte is all about the goodies and excursions.Â
Many have critiqued Tarte’s choice to spend so much on the posh Dubai trip, especially considering what the U.S. economy currently looks like. Some on social media are calling it insensitive and out of touch. Her Campus previously reached out to Tarte for comment but did not hear back by the time of publication.
And of course there’s the element of relatability for this trip: Can people even relate to these influencers at all? There’s more questions than answers regarding this influencer vacation. First class flights, champagne, world travel — maybe in my dreams.Â
