On Oct. 11, the world premiere of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert movie took place at AMC The Grove 14 in Los Angeles. As you can expect, the event was a huge deal as some of the biggest names in Hollywood were in attendance. In addition to Taylor Swift’s Eras dancers and singers, celebrities such as Mariska Hargitay, Adam Sandler, and even Beyoncé were spotted at this highly-anticipated premiere. There were also a few Swifites who got a chance to see the premiere of the movie — with Swift sitting in the audience.
Of course, those who were lucky enough to attend the premiere didn’t waste time sharing information about the movie on the internet. TikTok, especially, has since been flooded with videos of people who attended the premiere (or have inside information) talking about the movie. While most videos have been of movie-goers dancing along to songs while in the theater, others have been of fans breaking down some differences between the film and the headline-making concert.
Though most would assume that there wouldn’t be anything different, it turns out that a few changes from the concert were made for the movie and thanks to TikTok, we know what they are! Spoiler alert: Spoilers for ‘The Eras Tour’ movie follow.
Songs Cut From ‘The Eras Tour’ Movie
On Oct. 12, TikTok user @igorxtt posted a video that revealed the songs from Swift’s Eras Tour that were cut for the movie. In the video, @igorxtt pointed out that “The Archer,” “no body, no crime,” and “cardigan,” were not featured in the movie. Though the user wasn’t heartbroken over these songs being cut, they were shook that “Long Live (Taylor’s Version)” wasn’t included in the film, calling this move “criminal.” The movie also cut “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version),” which is beyond me because that’s a masterpiece in and of itself!
Surprise Songs In ‘The Eras Tour’ Movie
As for surprise songs included in the movie, they were “Our Song,” “You’re On Your Own, Kid.”
Though Swifties aren’t too happy the movie cut some of their fave songs, it makes sense why not all the tracks Swift performed during her tour weren’t included in the film.
According to AMC’s website, the concert movie’s length is 2 hours and 45 minutes — which is not as long as the actual Eras Tour, which ran for more than 3 hours and 15 minutes. With the film running 30 minutes less than the concert, it’s not surprising that certain elements of the performance were be cut.
But as @igorxtt mentioned in the video, Swifties are going to need an extended version of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert movie because I for one am dying to see the live performance of “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)”!
