Everyone is freaking out because the presale period for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is coming up on Nov. 15. Swifties everywhere are gearing up for the ticket drop, and let me tell you: They’re pulling out all the stops. With the tour being presented by Capital One, the announcement that cardholders would have even earlier access to the presale has left fans freaking out. There’s one leading question on non-cardholders minds: Can you get presale tickets to Swift’s Eras Tour without a Capital One card? I’m here to dish.
After the release of Swift’s Midnights album, Swifties began speculating a potential tour from the superstar. I mean, it’s been almost five years since Swift has hit the road to perform, so it only felt right when she announced her 2023 Eras Tour on Nov. 1. She described the tour as “a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!)” in a post to Instagram. So, if you were looking to relive the Red or 1989 days, you’re in the right place.
Competition for tickets was assured to be extremely competitive, but when Swifties found out that Capital One cardholders would gain exclusive access to the tour’s presale, it sent everyone into a frenzy. What if you don’t have a Capital One card… and should you go ahead and try to sign up for one ahead of the Nov. 15 presale?
If you don’t have a Capital One card but are a certified verified fan on Ticketmaster, don’t worry: You’ll still be able to gain early access to the Eras Tour tickets! This feature from Ticketmaster was created to ensure that bots weren’t able to snag up tickets, basically as an extra step of identity verification. Verified fans will receive a special email on Nov. 14 if they’re able to purchase early ticket sales. However, if you weren’t registered as a Ticketmaster verified fan by Nov. 9, you won’t be able to indulge in this presale purchasing method.
Of course, there’s still time to sign up for a Capital One card if you’re intent on snatching up a presale ticket. When visiting the official Eras Tour Capital One ticketing site, it outlines some simple steps you’ll need to take after getting a verified card. It specifically notes that to purchase tickets, you’ll need to use “an eligible Capital One Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card,” gaining access to your card information before being able to purchase presale tickets.
If you’ve missed all of these windows, you can wait for tickets to be released to the general public on Nov. 18 at 10 a.m., or shop on a secondary ticket marketplace (although I recommend going straight through the direct source). Whether you’re a Capital One cardholder or a diehard fan with a dream to get Eras Tour tickets, good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
