Taylor Swift Was Spotted With Jackson Mahomes At The Chiefs Game & Swifties Aren’t Happy

Taylor Swift attended her fourth Kansas City Chiefs game on Oct. 22 to cheer on her rumored boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and she genuinely looked like she was having fun. Don’t get me wrong, I’m swooning over Swift’s relationship with Kelce and along with many others on the internet, I’m beyond happy for her. But there’s one thing about Swift’s latest NFL game appearance that I’m a little nervous about, and that’s the company she was in.

While she was watching the game from a private suite, onlookers noticed that Swift was with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ family, including his brother, Jackson, his wife, Brittany; and his two children, Sterling and Bronze. From their interaction during the game, it looked like Swift and Brittany have known each other for more than just one month, since they’ve already come up with a secret handshake. While it looks like Swift is getting along great with the Mahomes family, their recent interactions have users online a bit worried.

The concern stems from Jackson Mahomes’ May 2023 arrest on aggravated sexual battery charges, which followed a February 2023 incident where he allegedly kissed a restaurant owner without her consent and shoved a waiter. At the time, Mahomes’ lawyer Brandan Davies released a statement, saying he “did nothing wrong.” Davies said, “Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser, including the statements of several witnesses.” Two months after the alleged altercation, Brittany publicly defended the younger Mahomes in an Instagram Q&A, calling people’s comments about her brother-in-law “ignorant.” She said, “He is a human just trying to live his life and find his way and until you walk a day in his shoes (which no one ever will) you have no right to say sh*t about him.”

Mahomes pleaded not guilty, and his next hearing is scheduled for Oct. 24. Due to his controversial past, fans went into protective mode after seeing him in the same suite as Swift. They quickly flocked to social media to call out Mahomes for being around Swift, as they don’t want anyone who’s been accused of sexual assault anywhere near the “Cruel Summer” singer.

Though this is the first time Swift has been spotted in the same room as Mahomes, she’s been seen hugging and laughing with Brittany Mahomes pretty often. The two have shared similar moments at previous Chiefs games this season. They also grabbed dinner together at Emilio’s Ballato in NYC on Sept. 30 with Swift’s star-studded friend group right before the Chiefs game at MetLife Stadium on Oct. 1.

Most fans seem to understand that Swift might not have known about Mahomes’ situation and even if she did, she doesn’t have the power to kick people out of a suite. So Swift is not to be blamed for simply wanting to support her rumored new boyfriend.
