Maybe “She’s American” and “London Boy” may happen after all⌠in the studio. Rumors continue to spread regarding Taylor Swift and Matty Healy. For the last two weeks, news sources and fans have been speculating that the multiple Grammy award winner and The 1975’s lead singer are dating. (Her Campus previously reached out to Swift and Healyâs teams for comment but didnât hear back.)
Despite numerous articles indicating the duo possibly developing a romance, others believe their recent reunion may be due to a possible music collaboration. On May 15, Swift and Healy were photographed leaving Electric Lady Studios in New York City together. Swift wore a purple and gray NYU sweatshirt paired with a black skirt and sneakers. Healy wore a black shirt, matching pants, and brown shoes. After seeing the video footage of the two leaving the studio together, fans started speculating on social media that their rumored relationship may actually be the first signs of a song collaboration.
Fans have been hoping for a possible collaboration between Swift and Healy since their first rumored romance in November 2014. The two singers met each other backstage during one of Healy’s concerts in Los Angeles, as Swift attended the show with Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding. Shortly after their first encounter, Healy did an interview with Australian radio program Shazam Top 20, where Healy described Swift as a âsensation.â Healy continued to praise Swift and her work in a March 2016 tweet, clarifying quotes he made during an interview with Q Magazine earlier that month. He said, âI have said on countless occasions that I found [Swift] to be one of the most gracious, hard working, creatively gifted, and beautiful women that I have had the pleasure to meet. I personally have a lot of respect and admiration for her.â
However, there is another possibility, and there may be no future collaboration between the rumored star-crossed lovers at all. Instead, it seems the two were actually at a party being held at the recording studio, as Swift and Healy were not the only stars in attendance. Kendrick Lamar, Florence Welch, Jerrod Carmichael, Adam Goldberg, Christopher Abbott, and the two singersâ longtime collaborator, Jack Antonoff, and his fiancĂŠe, Margaret Qualley, were also seen leaving the studio.
So, should fans be ready for a relationship announcement soon, or maybe a song release? Or both? Only time will tell.
