Yeah, you totally read that title correctly. Just two days after the presale of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour began, the ticket supply has run dry. Does this mean that I won’t be able to see Midnights live?! Bestie, this is worse than when Swifties singlehandedly broke Ticketmaster.
On Nov. 17, Ticketmaster took to Twitter to announce that the general sale of the Eras Tour tickets has been canceled. In their tweet, Ticketmaster canceled the ticket sales citing the “high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand”. With some fans not even gaining access to the infamous Eras Tour presale, this leaves thousands of Swifites without an opportunity to attend the tour. Let’s just say — the internet is absolutely losing it.
For Swifties, Friday, Nov. 18, was supposed to be a glorious day — tickets for the Eras Tour were set to release for public sale. For fans who missed out on presale tickets, hope was not yet lost. But now, consider all Swfities in their Reputation era. It’s you, Ticketmaster. Hi. You’re the problem, it’s you.
And while some fans are pointing the finger at ticketing companies, ticket resellers, and even fellow Swifites, some fans are calling on Swift to address the ticketing chaos. Her Campus reached out to Swift’s team for a statement, but did not hear back by the time of publication.
What does this mean for the future of the Eras Tour? If you got presale tickets, then you’re in luck — hold onto those babies as tight as you can. However, if you didn’t have the chance to snag tickets, know you’re not alone. Twitter is mourning right along with ya.
