After binge-watching the Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life revival last Thanksgiving, it seemed like we might never see the cast reunited again. Luckily for us, a crazy coincidence brought former costars Melissa McCarthy, who played Sookie St. James, and Yanic Truesdale, who played Michel Gerard, back together on Tuesday. The selfie they took to commemorate the occasion is SO adorable.
“I love when this happens! By coincidence, we both booked a vacation at the same time in Greece!” Truesdale captioned the photo, tagging McCarthy. I couldn’t agree more with the magical timing hashtag—is this a good omen for the very preliminary talks Netflix is having about another season of Gilmore Girls? I can only hope.
Truesdale’s Gilmore Girls character Michel was not exactly warm toward Sookie when they worked together at the Independence Inn and the Dragonfly Inn. However, it’s clear from the two’s ear-to-ear smiles that all their drama was scripted. With the beautiful Greek beach in the background, this post is, as one user commented, “pure Instagram gold.”
Truesdale was having a very Gilmore Girls vacation already, as he took to Instagram to gush over the book written by his other costar, Lauren Graham, who starred as Lorelai Gilmore on the show.Â
“Catching up on my reading in Greece,” his caption reads. “At last a vacation! Proud of my friend Lauren for her funny and entertaining new book!”Â
I love that the Gilmore Girls cast members are friends on-screen and off-. #SquadGoals AF
