Pixar fans have long been awaiting the news of a Toy Story 4 since Toy Story 3 hit theaters in 2010. Now, we finally have a first glance at the new Toy Story 4, and it will make you both laugh and cry.
While not many details are revealed in the new teaser trailer, it does look like our favorite toy gang is back, including Woody, Buzz and Forky?
Here’s what we know about the next Toy Story movie.
The tagline for the new film is “Every Ending is a New Beginning,” a reference to the final scene of Toy Story 3, where Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) says goodbye to Andy.

But now the toys are in a new room, bringing happiness and fun to another child, Bonnie, and with that comes new adventures.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, director Josh Cooley said, “Like most people, I assumed that Toy Story 3 was the end of the story. And it was the end of Woody’s story with Andy. But just like in life, every ending is a new beginning. Woody now being in a new room, with new toys, and a new kid, was something we have never seen before. The questions of what that would be like became the beginning of an entertaining story worth exploring.”
According to ABC News, the gang encounters a cute, but awkward “Forky,” voiced by Tony Hale, who asserts that he is not a toy.
“An actual spork-turned-craft-project, Forky is pretty sure that he doesn’t belong in Bonnie’s room. Unfortunately, every time he tries to get away, someone yanks him back into an adventure he’d rather skip,” according to Pixar.
“The world of Toy Story is built upon the idea that everything in the world has a purpose. A toy’s purpose is to be there for its child. But what about toys that are made out of other objects? Forky is a toy that Bonnie made out of a disposable spork, so he’s facing a crisis,” Cooley said. “He wants to fulfill his purpose as a spork, but now has a new toy purpose thrust upon him.”
In the teaser trailer, you can see that the toys are all content with their place in the world as they spin around hand in hand to Judy Collins’ song Clouds, but Forky’s anxiety builds as he desperately tries to escape from the gang.
According to Hello Giggles, the film’s synopsis reveals that Forky reluctantly joins the toys on a “road trip adventure” where Woody learns “how big the world can be for a toy.” Sounds exciting!
Toy Story 4 opens in theaters on June 21st, 2019.
