Usher came to bring the house down for this year’s Super Bowl halftime show — and he totally did. Of course, Usher brought out hits like “Yeah!” with Lil Jon and Ludacris and “My Boo” with Alicia Keys that have cemented him as a pop and R&B megastar for decades. While it’s common to inquire if Super Bowl signers are lip-syncing, fans are praising Usher for clearly not lip-syncing at all. We love to see it.
Several Super Bowl halftime performers, including the 2023 halftime artist, Rihanna, have trended on social media based on lip-syncing accusations. During major performances, artists commonly use a mix of backing tracks and live vocals. With a platform this large and a stage this massive, backing tracks often keep performances on the rails — no pun intended.
Interestingly, “Gunz” of The Gunz Show noticed that you could clearly hear Usher’s hat tap his mic, indicating he was singing it all by himself.
Onlookers were just dazzled by the sheer talent Usher showed onstage.
IMHO, Usher’s Super Bowl halftime performance was one of the best I’ve seen in the past few years. He really showcased his talent, and gave Vegas a show to remember.
