The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is arguably one of the best teen movies—addressing friendship, love and everything in between. Believe it or not, it has been eight years since the second installment hit theaters. Despite this huge gap, the four actresses seem to be great friends in real life. Did you know that Blake Lively made America Ferrara, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel the co-godmothers of her daughter? Yeah, that’s true friendship. Even though it’s been a while since we saw a photo of all four ladies together, a recent mini-reunion is giving us hope that a third Sisterhood film will be happening sooner than we think!Â
A few days ago, Amber Tamblyn made an appearance at the Los Angeles Film Festival in celebration of her directorial debut of Paint it Black. In true bestie fashion, America Ferrara was also in attendance to support Amber. Sharing her excitement with fans, America also couldn’t resist posting a short video on Instagram.
Given this mini cast reunion, attendees were curious as to whether or not the actors were currently developing a third Sisterhood movie—especially because last year, America said that it was “very much in the works.” In response to a question regarding th movie’s exact release date, Amber said, “I have no information about that right now.”
However, Amber did offer other words of encouragement. “But I can obviously tell you that something is definitely in the works.” Based on Amber’s response, it seems like the co-stars are more than happen to create a third film for fans—it’s just a matter of figuring out what time works for all of them.
In addition to another Sisterhood movie, there’s also a possibility that we could be seeing the actors appearing in other films together. “I actually have a role for America that I’ve had in mind for a long time,” Amber said. She also added, “I would love nothing more than to just be working with them for the rest of my life.”
