Zendaya is not one to keep quiet about the things that don’t vibe with her. The American singer and actress made headlines when she took a stand against a sickening tweet that referenced The Purge, a movie that explores the darker themes of humanity. To provide a short synopsis: ordinary citizens are not held accountable for their wrong-doings, as crimes like rape and murder are permissible for 12 hours. Since the film is currently being played in theatres, one user posted this offensive tweet:
With her image posted among the likes of Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé and Rihanna, Zendaya did not hold back. Admonishing the poster for his tactless tweet, she made it clear that “this is absolutely disgusting.” The young star was also quick to give a sensible response to the same user when he boasted about being addressed by her.
This is absolutely disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourself. Is this really what my generation thinks is ok? https://t.co/brqVohkX9E

@ogxbenson the only thing that’s lit is your immorality and inhumanity young man. I pray you find some sense.

While this is an exemplary instance of crass demonstrated by a Twitter troll, Zendaya’s replies gives us a glimmer of hope that the Twitterverse is not overrun by insensitive boars. Now we’re looking forward to hearing what Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and BeyoncĂ©’s thoughts are on all of this.
