Fans of The Bachelorette are still reeling from Rachel Lindsay’s shutdown of DeMario Jackson on the most recent episode, but Bachelor Nation has now caught hints of someone still in the running that Rachel may have to keep an eye on. Lee Garrett, a Nashville singer-songwriter, has come to attention after fans discovered multiple offensive tweets he posted over the course of two years, Entertainment Weekly reports.
He’s yet to be in the spotlight on the show, but Lee’s tweets from 2015 and 2016 have now cast an entirely different light on his time in Bachelor Mansion. One Twitter user gathered together his posts speaking against feminism, the Black Lives Matter movement, the NAACP and more to call Lee out.
Gotta love how @BacheloretteABC casts Lee…wonder how @TheRachLindsay feels about it? #TheBachelorette pic.twitter.com/RX6lkGpgyB

Since the tweets gained attention, Lee’s Twitter account is now private, but his bio says that he is “pleasantly offensive.” Hmmm, you might want to rephrase that, Lee.
This season’s extended preview suggests that Lee stirs up some trouble with other contestants, and now with this context, we can’t help but wonder if there will be any racial connotations behind his arguments. ABC representatives have kept quiet about the incident, so the possibility of these issues coming up on the show might arise sooner than we think. No matter what, it’s safe to assume that Lee definitely isn’t on The Bachelorette for “the right reasons.”Â
