Rumors of a third Princess Diaries movie have been swirling around for a while, but author Meg Cabot just revealed that it might be more of a possibility than we had thought. Apparently, there’s even a script!
Cabot, who wrote the book series that inspired the original film, told Entertainment Weekly about the existence of the script but was tight-lipped about the details. She did, however, spill that if a third movie is released, it will be more of a continuation of the movies than the books.
Anne Hathaway, Julie Andrews, Chris Pine and even HĂ©ctor Elizondo (who played Mia’s bodyguard, Joe) have said they would be interested in a third movie. The actors hope it will be a tribute to the director of the first two films, Garry Marshall, who passed away in 2016 at age 81.Â
I, for one, would be thrilled to return to Genovia, so here’s hoping all these rumors are true. Twitter said it best:
Honestly if they make a third #PrincessDiaries movie my heart would probably explode with joy.
