The 11 Most Mouthwatering Sweet Potato Concoctions

Aside from the turkey, everyone knows sweet potatoes are the most essential component to a perfect Thanksgiving dinner. Whether they’re baked or candied, in a casserole or in a pie, we can’t imagine our Turkey Day meals feeling complete without them. Here are just a few yummy ways to add sweet potatoes to your Thanksgiving meal.

1. Oven-Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges

Seasoned with rosemary and garlic-flavored olive oil, these tasty wedges are way better than French fries.

2. Creamy Carrot and Sweet Potato Soup

Thick, creamy and orange – what more could you want from a soup?

3. Garlic Sweet Potato Mash

Forget your plain old mashed potatoes. This recipe keeps the savory taste of the comfort food staple without too much butter.

4. Mexican Sweet Potato Quinoa Salad

For a potato salad with a Southwest flavor, this creation hits the spot.

5. Buttered Sweet Potato Knot Rolls

Hot, buttery rolls with one-third the calories and fat of traditional rolls with a boost of beta-carotene to boot? Our prayers have been answered.

6. Caramelized Onion and Sweet Potato Soup

Sweet, earthy and much more exciting than your usual chicken noodle.

7. Curried Sweet Potato Salad

When you substitute mayonnaise for mango chutney and Greek yogurt, this classic dish suddenly becomes guilt-free (and tastier, too!).

8. Baked Sweet Potato with Kale and Ricotta

Skip the bacon bits and sour cream this year and create some spuds topped with kale and ricotta instead.

9. Sweet Potato and Apple Casserole

Instead of marshmallows, try layering your casserole with some Granny Smiths and spices.

10. Sweet Potato Cake Bites

Mini cake bites made with sweet potatoes, oats, dates and walnuts? We’ll have a dozen, please.

11. Sweet Potato Pudding

Sweet potatoes are naturally sweet, so there’s no need to load up this pudding with extra sweeteners!
