12 Unique Pinterest Boards You Need To Follow

Whether you’ve planned your Pinterest wedding already or you’re a newcomer to the site, it’s always good to mix things up a bit! Her Campus recently compiled a list of 25 awesome Pinterest accounts you should be following but if you’re feeling out-of-the-box, you might want to seek out a new board topic. Here are 12 unique boards that will help you pass time, learn something new, and help build boards of your own:

1. Paint Swatch Art
The newest craft to hurricane through Pinterest is do-it-yourself paint chip art! The materials are cheap. You simply head to your nearest home improvement store and pick up paint sample swatches. The lighter-to-darker effect of the swatches equals instant shading for any art design. The opportunities are endless! The gradient effect is great for adding a pop of color to a room. These pinners have compiled some of the cutest ways to turn paint sample swatches into masterpieces:

Isabelle Rancier has put together some of the most innovative editorial shoots featuring supermodels and cool settings. Weird? Yes. Interesting to look at? Definitely! We really like the Kirsten Dunst series from LulaMag!

Some pinners have taken their watermelon obsession to the next step. These boards feature some crazy watermelon recipes and even turn watermelons into edible sculptures:

9. Custom TOMS
It’s nice to have shoes that are comfortable and versatile and give back to the world at the same time, and that’s a big reason why so many people love TOMS, which donates some of its proceeds to help underprivileged kids. But they have an additional appeal to the artsy and crafty masses because they are easy to customize. Check out these cool customized TOMS. Next time you look at your own pair, you will see a canvas—not just a shoe.

10. International Food
Sometimes, it’s good to go out of your comfort zone and stretch your food boundaries. What better way to do this than by trying out some international fare? It kills two birds with one stone. You get to try something new (that could potentially become your favorite food of all time) and you can pretend that you’ve traveled to some exotic locale as you eat it. A fun date night? You bet!

11. Inspirational Women
You can’t have an all-guys board without an all-girls one too! “Guys in suits” boards are thought provoking, but not as inspirational as these awesome chicks. Having an “inspirational women” board is great for when you find yourself needing a motivation boost. After all, with a little effort you could be a face on these boards someday!
