The Best Summer Job in America Really Does Exist!

Imagine what it would be like to have the best summer job in America? I’m not talking about just loving the work you do—I’m talking about actually having the “best job.” This is the second year in a row that Jack Wills has challenged college students across the nation to prove why they should in fact win The Best Summer Job in America. Yes, collegiettes, there is in fact a job that holds this title, and for the first time ever both a boy and girl are experiencing this real life dream.

Doug is a self proclaimed Jack Wills man and an architecture student at the University of Cincinnati. Deb Tam is a Lacrosse star at Messiah College and an aspiring fashion blogger looking to make it big. They have each won $20,000 in tuition and a six week internship as a Jack Wills Seasonnaire over hundreds of other applicants.

I could sit here and tell you about their internship; that they started their adventure earlier this month in NYC and have already headed off to London to meet the Jack Wills founders themselves, or that they get to participate in the biggest annual Jack Wills event – Varsity Polo! You might even be jealous to learn that once they get back from London they will travel the east coast and go from one Jack Wills store to the next, where they will work on marketing, event planning, and social media skills.

I could also sit here and tell you that they get to chill on the beach and host parties as part of their job. Jack Wills claims that it helps them embody the brands lifestyle (lucky guys!).

However, after speaking to both Deb and Doug and hearing the energy and excitement in their voices, I asked them if they wouldn’t mind sharing their experience with you through multiple videos! They just sent me their first one—all the way from London, where they are interviewing each other on the beach. Check it out now and hear what they have to say:

Shaye is a rising junior at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she is pursuing a degree in Advertising and Marketing Communications. As an aspiring magazine editor she is doing everything and anything to learn as much as she can. After moving away from her hometown in Michigan she has fallen head over heels for a place that she never imagined being able to call home. She just wrapped up an internship at Seventeen in their features department, where she was able to sit next to several Her Campus advocates, and is so excited to finally be joining this team! She is in love with 11:11 wishes, iced coffee, and strolls in any park. You can follow her on twitter under the handle @clishaye where she is constantly tweeting about the fact that she still can’t believe that she is living her dreams!
