TikTok is quite literally the gift that keeps on giving. From vibey songs to add to your long drives playlist to audios to use in sketchy Uber rides, there’s nothing you can’t find on there. While it took me some time to stumble upon the gift that is FoodTok, I finally made it. Now for a lot of you, this may be old news… but to me, it was not. Allow me to explain. As someone who doesn’t necessarily ~love~ cooking, I’d always skip past the food TikToks that would occasionally show up on my FYP. But one day (when I was probably hungry), I decided to give in and see what all the fuss was about. And my life has been changed for the better ever since. Here’s a roundup of some of my favorite recipes I’ve found on FoodTok:
- Iced White Mocha
-
If you’re anything like me and you’re *heavily* reliant on your daily or weekly Starbucks runs, I’m happy to report that someone has finally mastered the Iced White Mocha recipe. You’ll never have to spend six dollars daily ever again (unless you want to, of course).
- KFC Zinger
-
If there’s only one food TikTok account you’re going to follow, let it be this one. Hajar Larbah aka @moribyan, is the queen of recreating the best meals in her kitchen. From Subway cookies to Peri Peri chicken, she’s done it all. I could do a whole article solely on all of her recipes. But I decided to go with a crowd-favorite this time, the good ol’ KFC Zinger.
- 15-Minute Garlic Bread
-
Okay, it is a universally known fact that there is quite literally nothing better in this world than garlic bread. Cheese, garlic, bread — what more could anyone ask for? I’m a huge garlic bread buff. Every time I’ve seen garlic bread on a menu or in a bakery, I’ve bought it. I have ZERO self control when it comes to garlic bread. That being said, I do think it gives me some authority to rank how good different garlic breads are. And I really have to say, this is definitely one of the best ones I’ve ever tried. I literally could not believe it.
- Chocolate Mousse
-
Alright, it literally does not get simpler than this. It takes two ingredients and one of them is water. So trust me, if you’re lazy or don’t want to indulge in a recipe with 50 different ingredients, this is the one for you. Plus, it’s not even like it’s a lame recipe — you get a whole freaking chocolate mousse out of it! Can’t go wrong here at all.
- Crispy Chicken Wrap
-
I always tell people I’m a carnivore. I love chicken, so naturally any recipe that calls for it is right up my alley. This crispy chicken wrap is literally out of this world. It’s saucy, crunchy, and mixes just the right amount of flavor to give you the most satisfying wrap. You can enjoy it on-the-go or while you’re having some me-time Netflixing.
- Edible Cookie Dough
-
Sooo, while I realize she made this for her kids, let’s be real: edible cookie dough is every adult’s dream, right? There’s not much more to say here since it’s pretty self-explanatory, but this mom just made our lives sweeter and easier. Her recipe also reduces the risk of developing salmonella… But the fear of that never stopped any of us from eating raw cookie dough before, did it?
- Chili Oil Noodles
-
If you enjoy ~spice~, this is the perfect recipe for you. In under 10 minutes, you can make the most delish chili oil udon noodles that will *awaken* all of your tastebuds. As a self-proclaimed chili lover, I was over the moon when I found this recipe.
- Cinnamon Rolls
-
I’m obsessed with Cinnabon. I probably spend like 80 percent of my money on their cinnamon rolls, so once I stumbled upon this recipe I was so hype. Not because I was saving money (I mean, it should’ve been because of that), but because I’d never have to leave my house to go get cinnamon rolls again. Also, Newt (the creator of this TikTok) is the funniest person alive and *all* of his recipes slap so I would recommend following him for more.
- In- N-Out Burger
-
Okay, I have a confession to make. I’ve never had an In-N-Out burger so I don’t exactly have something to compare this recipe to, BUT I’d take my chances on saying this recipe comes close to the real deal. I don’t even have to say much here because I promise you, the video speaks for itself. Despite never having had an In- N-Out burger, I was super tempted to give this recipe a go, so I’m sure you will too.
- Japanese Soufflé Pancakes
-
While I’ve never personally been a fan of Japanese pancakes, I know they were all the rage for a while. And although I thought I’d never develop the taste for it, this recipe has changed my mind (and life). Think spongy, but not dry and soft, yet not fragile and flavorful in just the right way. Aaaah, I’m in love.
And there you have it. That’s a list of my current fave recipes on TikTok, though chances are by next month, I’ll have a whole new list ready for y’all! Happy cooking.
