It’s that time of year again! Rush week at the University of Alabama — aka Bama Rush — ended with Bid Day on Sunday Aug. 20, after a week of recruitment activities that determined what house potential new members (PNMs) got invitations to join. That means Bama Rush TikTok is blowing up with new members sharing their bids, and videos of hauls showing off the swag members received from their new sororities.Â
Bid Day merch is different for each sorority, and new members get tons of swag that features their sorority’s name and Greek letters. New members are posting hauls of their gear, which feature customized T-shirts, jerseys, water bottles, and fanny packs. Members can also represent their new houses with colorful stickers, towels, and hats.Â
On Bid Day, new members open their bids and run through campus to their new sorority houses. Many members shared how hot Bid Day was in Tuscaloosa, and how great it was to get new merch like fans and water bottles that would help keep them cool!

Olivia Rosado says said she was “so happy” in her Bid Day haul video for Delta Gamma. She highlights a giant anchor her sorority sisters held up as she ran home, with personal messages written on the back. She also got a car decal, hairspray, a fan to beat the summer heat, and customized tank tops.

Alexandra, aka @jaccuzzzzi on TikTok, showed off a rose she got from a frat guy as she was running home to Alpha Omicron Pi. Her new water bottle has a picture of the sorority house, and she received a pin to wear to game days, too!
Bid Day bags are an exciting way to end a grueling rush schedule at the University of Alabama. Rush started with Convocation on Saturday Aug. 12 to introduce PNMs to the rush process. PNMs then attended three Philanthropy days, where sororities showcased the charities they support. During the following three Sisterhood days, PNMs discussed sorority values and culture with each sorority on their rapidly narrowing list. Right before Bid Day was Preference Day, a formal event where PNMs ranked their preference of the sororities they got invited back to.Â
Having survived such a long process, it’s fun to see these new sorority members excited about their bids and ready for a new chapter in college.
