From quizzes that have a time limit to papers that are as long as the bible, we can all agree on one thing––some things about college will NEVER make sense. No matter what year you are in, certain aspects of college life will always make you go “WTF???” Here are 18 things that we still don’t understand.
1. Classes costing thousands of dollars
*tears* We don’t really know why, so we just try not to think about it.
2. How you’re possibly affording all of this
Thanks, Mom and Dad?
3. Or how you’re possibly going to pay this all back one day
Yikes. You have taken out so many loans that you’re probably gonna turn into a loan.
4. Mandatory attendance
What did we ever do to deserve this kind of punishment?
5. How the heck your “class participation” grade is even a thing
Making us speak in class is just plain mean.
6. Weekend due dates
Really? It’s honestly just so rude.
7. Going from a week of no work to having three papers, five tests and seven readings the next week
We’re gonna need way more than one drink after this week.
8. General education requirements
Enough said.
9. Cumulative finals
WHY?????!!!!!
10. Dining hall food
We’re not sure where you came from or why there are endless amounts of you, but we’re not gonna question it.
11. The difference between MLA, APA and Chicago format
We think we got it right for once, but we probably just mashed together all three. It’s whatever, though.
12. Length requirements for papers
Must. Reach. Ten. Page. Minimum.
13. Group projects
It doesn’t really matter how many group projects we have––we’re, like, permanently awkward.
14. What your professor is even talking about
Where did all of this information come from?!
15. Pop quizzes
They feel like a personal attack that we did not deserve.
16. How many years it will actually take to get your degree
“Oh yeah!! I’m definitely going to graduate on time! I think? Haha…maybe?”
17. How you even got to this point
Weren’t we in elementary school, like, yesterday?
18. If it’s all even worth it
*sigh* One day we’ll look back and it will all make sense… Right?!
