Kelsea Ballerini is, without a doubt, country music’s newest rising star. Not only did she join the long list of celebs who hit the stage with Taylor Swift on her 1989 World Tour this year, but she’ll be kicking off 2016 by touring with country mainstay Dierks Bentley. The “Dibs” singer, who is a self-proclaimed DIY fanatic, was gracious enough to use what little downtime she has to craft a special project exclusively for Her Campus readers! We have a feeling you’ll be dying to try out her painted mason jar DIY—turns out, Kelsea is just as obsessed with mason jars as we are—after you see just how far beyond the music world Ms. Ballerini’s talents lie.
What you’ll need:
- Mason jars—these can be purchased at most convenience and grocery stores
- Acrylic paint—I chose pink, turquoise and silver!
- Foam paint brushes—one per color
Step one:
Begin with one thin coat of paint. With acrylic paint, the wait time between coats is typically one to two hours. After the third coat of paint, you should be good to go!
Step two:
Depending on your style and decor preferences, there are many options for “dressing up” your new mason jars! I experimented with both ribboning and a floral arrangement.
Step three:
Enjoy and share with friends!
Kelsea Ballerini’s debut album, The First Time, is out now.
