Kiss me, I’m Borg-rish! March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day, and I’m ready to deck myself out in all green, all day… including my drink of choice. And, in true Gen Z fashion, I’ll be rocking a Borg during my St. Patty’s escapades (and drinking it responsibly, OFC).
If you’re in the 21+ club, and haven’t heard of a Borg, here’s the scoop: A Borg is an acronym for “blackout rage gallon,” and it’s made with the magic ratio of a gallon-jug of water, your liquor of choice, flavoring mix, and usually an energy drink or some Liquid I.V. However, keep in mind that the goal is never to actually black out from drinking: Be responsible, know your limits, and always stay safe when you’re drinking alcohol!
Once your Borg is made, the most important step is to name your Borg. Typically, this can be a play on the word Borg — think, Ruth Bader Gins-Borg, Material Borg, etc. And, in the spirit of St. Patty’s Day, this is the perfect time to name your Borg with a fun, holiday twist… and make sure it’s green.
Borgs can be customized completely to your liking, but I’m all for embracing the holiday spirit. Instead of your basic Borg recipe, St. Patty’s Day is the perfect excuse to make a bright green Borg. And, as a bonus, it’ll totally match that super cute St. Patty’s fit.
If you’ve been on the hunt for a green Borg recipe, look no further: I’ve got you covered. From personal experience, this Borg recipe is not only the perfect shade of Shamrock green, but it’s also super delicious. What’s there not to love?
First, grab your gallon jug. Drink about a third of it (you’ll thank me later), or pour it into that dying house plant you have. From there, pour in as much or as little of your choice liquor (I used tequila). Then, to get the perfect green color, add in some Green Apple Kool-Aid powder along with a bit of the Green Thunder MiO flavoring.
Shake it up, pick a hilarious Borg name, and get ready for an eventful St. Patty’s Day!
