In college you will learn how to manage important things like your school work, your schedule, your messy room, your eating habits, and more. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to manage the madness of making plans to go out. While getting ready, you will be personally debating a multitude of options. Push-up or padded? Red or pink lipstick? Money in bag or pocket? This is just the beginning of what it’s like to (attempt to) make plans.
It’s 2 p.m. and all of a sudden…
You picture you and your ladies taking on the town in total G.N.O. style…
So you automatically text the group chat…
An hour rolls by…
But, within the blink of an eye…
The chat starts blowing up with things like “YAS,” and “Turn up.”
And so the planning begins…
But, in reality your group chat looks like this…
Then, every group member starts complaining…
You’re reading texts like “No one even goes there!” or, “I can only go if someone buys my cover charge, I’ll get you next time…”
Finally, everyone gets over their petty concerns. Back to your original plan…
Then of course someone must address the dreaded aspect of TRANSPORTATION…
“Lets take an Uber,” “No, it’s warm enough to walk,” “The taxis are cheaper than the Ubers!” “How about I drive there, we all cram in and I’ll pick up my car in the morning…”
In other news, time is ticking and no one knows what to wear…
The messages convert from straight up texts to straight up pictures…
And the critiquing of the outfits begin…
So now the conversation consists of one person sending 10 different outfits in an attempt to please everyone…
Soon enough, outfits are established and war is over once again…
Just as you’re about to head out for the night, one friend starts texting you individually — only to bail…
She says she’s sick, but you know what that really means…
No one said making plans would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it…
