Looking for a new Snapchat friend? We have a solution: Go to the app, swipe up, hit add and type in: @MichelleObama. That’s right, First Lady Michelle Obama is officially joining in on the social media platform to share some of her important FLOTUS moments with us all. Be prepared for some very ~presidential~ snaps from the First Lady herself.
The Snapchat account, @MichelleObama, was launched to allow students in the U.S. to follow the First Lady’s latest Let Girls Learn Trip. The Let Girls Learn initiative is aimed at raising awareness of the more than 62 million girls around the world who aren’t in school, and encourages students to take action to support them (You can read our exclusive interview with FLOTUS on the education initiative here). Michelle Obama will also take fellow Snappers behind the scenes in Washington and abroad in the coming months.
Joined by Malia and Sasha Obama and Mrs. Marian Robinson, the First Lady’s Let Girls Learn Trip will make stops in Margibi County, Liberia; Marrakech, Morocco; and Madrid, Spain from June 27 to July 1. Meryl Streep and Freida Pinto are set to make appearances alongside the First Lady in Morocco, too!
The very best part of it all? You can witness all of this, plus learn a thing or two about women’s educational rights, all on your phone.
